Nan joined CSI in 2012 and has continued to play a pivotal role in the company’s culture of excellence in the areas of customer and partner support, system implementation and strategic vendor enrollment. With 25 years of progressive leadership in the areas of customer service and support, Nan provides the experience and knowledge needed to continually inspire CSI’s partner teams and ensure smooth implementations and operational support for our valued partners. In addition, Nan co-leads CSI’s charity committee and oversees corporate philanthropy for CSI’s foundation, Power2Change. Today, Nan shares her story.
So Nan, tell me a little about yourself!
I’ve been with CSI globalVCard since 2012 starting as a relationship manager and have had terrific opportunities along the way including managing operations in our Bonita Springs headquarters. Recently I accepted a promotion to lead the Global Partnership Team, which meant a recent relocation to Dallas for me and my husband. Moving is nothing new to me. As an Air Force ‘brat,’ we moved quite a bit. It opened up the world to me at an early age. As a kid I was more concerned about leaving my newly formed friendships – and now looking back, I realize how lucky I am to have friends and family around the world. In fact, my husband is from Dublin. We both share a passion for travel, new adventures, golf and rescuing animals.
What inspired you to take on your newest challenge, partnerships, and move to our Dallas office?
The opportunity door was presented to me by Keith Stone, our CEO, and it was natural for me to want to walk through it. There’s always that curiosity of wanting to be a part of what’s next and I always look upon these opportunities as real blessings. My thought process throughout my life has been “what’s the worst that can happen?” If I can handle it then okay, let’s make that jump. It’s never failed me. In fact, my life has been so enriched by taking those leaps. And now the chance to be a part of CSI’s global expansion endeavors working with a wide variety of partnerships to take this industry to new heights was an opportunity too good to pass up!
What do you love most about Dallas?
It’s a big city with a small town feel. People are incredibly friendly and Texans pride themselves on it. There’s even a street sign that says “Drive Friendly.” And they love their dogs! Just about everyone has a dog they take everywhere. It’s a gorgeous city with one of the largest park systems—over 380! There’s so much to do from the museums, the art districts, sports teams, and the vast number of neighborhoods with some of the oldest, largest trees I’ve seen outside of Redwood State Park. And let’s not forget the restaurants!
What’s the coolest thing you’re working on right now?
CSI’s explosion of expansion into the global payments arena is extremely exciting. It’s a very fast paced, ever changing world. There are so many facets to it, so all I can say is “stay tuned and hold on!”
What I love is that CSI has taken on a facet of business, the accounting department, that is normally considered routine, maybe even boring, but a necessary need, and we’re turning it inside out with incredible technology. Our products change a cost center into making revenue for a company–and it is safe, secure, efficient, mobile and, perhaps best of all, very user friendly.
How do you recharge?
I love animals with a special attachment to English Bulldogs that we rescue. I also won’t turn down the chance to dig in the dirt to try to improve my green thumb. However, if I am honest, I’d admit that only the hardiest plants survive under my care. And I can always get lost in a good murder mystery, especially now that I have a fireplace in our new Dallas home!
